Daniel Crapps was born in Live Oak, Florida on December 18,1951. In 1969, he graduated from high school at Staunton Military Academy in Staunton, Virginia, and from the University of Florida in 1973 with a Degree in Real Estate.
The Crapps Family has been in North Florida for most of the century. At one time, they owned 160,000 acres in several North Florida counties. Daniel’s father, P.C. Crapps, Jr. owned The First National Bank of Live Oak and The Hamilton County Bank of Jasper before selling to Barnett Bank of Florida in 1986. Daniel sold real estate in Gainesville with Collidge Davis Realty until January 1975, at which time he opened a one-man real estate office in Live Oak.
Since then, Daniel Crapps Agency, Inc. has grown to an office in Lake City with four full-time employees and sales force of approximately 20 agents, doing in excess of $300,000,000 in sales in North Florida. Over the last ten years, Daniel Crapps has specialized in putting together groups for the purpose of developing approximately 3,000 acres in Suwannee, Lafayette, Hamilton, Dixie, Taylor and Columbia Counties into residential lots. Other projects of Daniel Crapps, individually and/or with a group, include the following in Lake City: Taco Bell Restaurant, Nostalgia Square Office Building, Branford Highway Business Park, Cypress Lake Subdivision, Brentwood Apartment Complex, Plantations Subdivision, the effort to revitalize the Downtown Blanche Hotel (75,000 square feet), Alltel Building, Honda Building, Tire Kingdom, Papa Johns Pizza Building and Florida’s Gateway Centers North and South (196 acres of commercial property at the interchange of U.S. 90 and Interstate 75). Daniel Crapps has also put together investment groups that have bought and sold timberland in Suwannee, Lafayette, Hamilton, Madison, Dixie, and Taylor Counties, Florida. Daniel currently manages investment groups that own large tracts of land in Clay, Flagler, Suwannee, Madison, Hamilton and Lafayette Counties, Florida. He also manages investment groups that have large tracts in Crawford, Ware, Mitchell, Crisp, Macon, Dooly, Sumter, Peach, Dodge, Oglethorpe and Taliaferro Counties, Georgia.
